Senior Cooperatives

Senior cooperatives are associations made up of cooperative members who own the building and operate it for the benefit of their members.

Senior cooperatives allow seniors to retain independence and control. Opportunities for socialization are within reach. Cooperative participation fosters a supportive, energetic, interdependent environment that promotes better health and longer life.

Seniors also benefit financially since home equity is retained and they enjoy tax benefits such as mortgage interest and real estate tax deductions. Monthly costs are affordable. Costs are further reduced through new energy efficient construction and by sharing the costs of services and maintenance expenses with others.
