Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Award given to 700 Central

The 27th Annual Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Awards were announced in May by Preserve Minneapolis, AIA Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission during a gathering at the International Market Square.

On May 18, 2017, the Minneapolis HPC, AIA Minneapolis, and Preserve Minneapolis awarded 700 Central a Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission Award for Historic Restoration, Rehabilitation, or Adaptive Reuse Project. Projects were judged  on returning an existing building to it’s original character in a manner that is respectful of the building’s past or reinvented to incorporate both new and historic elements in a respectful way. Additional judging criteria included careful attention to the quality of design, architecture, workmanship, and materials as well as the impact of the project on the surrounding neighborhood and community.
